On Saturday, June 26, close to 150 kids from the Galveston, Texas area joined Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wide Receiver Mike Evans on the field for his 2021 Mike Evans Family Foundation free youth football camp. Evans and coaches from his former high school, Ball High School, have hosted the camp since 2015. Attendees received camp shirts, mini footballs, snacks, mouthguards and more all donated from community partners. The kids received a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to run football plays with Evans himself and participated in a 7-on-7 competition among their respective age groups. This event is one of many that the Mike Evans Family Foundation puts on to give back to the community, something that is extremely important to Evans and his wife, Ashli Evans, who also is a co-founder of the Foundation.
Following the free youth football camp, five lucky campers were selected to receive a shopping spree at Academy Sports + Outdoors in Galveston. Each child received a $500 gift card to buy new football gear and more.
