PRESIDENT
Mike Evans

Mike Evans is a wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League. He played college football at Texas A&M, where he earned consensus first-team All-American honors after recording a school record of 1,394 receiving yards on 69 receptions. He was drafted by the Buccaneers in the first round with the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Evans is the only player in NFL history to start his career with eight consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and just the sixth all-time to have 1,000 yards in eight consecutive seasons during their career. Evans is married to Ashli Evans and has four children: Mackenzie, Ariah Lynn, Amari and Aliyah. Always driven for success, Mike wants everyone to have an opportunity to reach their potential and his goal mission is to find ways to help kids know that their goals are attainable if they work hard.

VICE PRESIDENT/SECRETARY
Ashli Evans

Ashli is Mike’s wife. She attended Blinn Junior College in College Station where she met Mike. She now spends her time raising their four kids, all while taking care of their two homes and all their family needs outside of football. She also loves fashion and beauty and has her own blog. Ashli is very involved in the foundation and loves the Catch for Christmas events where the foundation gives gifts to children in Tampa. She enjoys giving back to her community and families in need and believes that every child should have the opportunity to get an education and reach their goals.

TREASURER
Robert Hallback

Robert is a financial Advisor with Edward Jones and has been friends with the Evans family for years. Robert played football in college and earned a bachelor’s degree with a focus in finance from Florida State University. He also has an MBA in general business and finance from the University of Maryland. Hallback began his Edward Jones career in 2017 in Tampa before relocating to Georgia with his family. He is very involved in the community, as a member of the Buckhead Rotary Club, his fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi, Seminoles Booster Club, Atlanta Boys and Girls Club, Rujohn Foundation and most recently the Mike Evans Family Foundation.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Courtney Foss

Courtney received her undergraduate degree and master’s degree from Texas A&M University, where she met Mike back in 2011. She has worked with the Houston Rockets, Houston Texans, Texas A&M Athletic Department, a sponsorship and marketing agency, ESPN, and several other sporting teams. Courtney was asked to serve on the board in 2019 and was named the executive director in March 2020. She brought on Capture Sports Marketing to help the foundation with its marketing and fundraising efforts. Together they have worked to acquire sponsorships, institute the annual Mike Evans Family Foundation scholarship program, and conceptualize new events to help the foundation accomplish its goals of helping those in need and expanding its reach.

Board of Directors

Jerald Temple

Coach Temple serves as a coach and administrator at Ball High School in Galveston, Texas.  He was Mike’s high school basketball coach and has been a part of his support team for years. Coach Temple is the camp director for the annual Mike Evans Youth Football Camp held in Galveston and continues to work closely with Mike on several projects.

Terry Petteway

Having known Mike since he was a child, Mr. Terry Petteway has served as a father figure to Mike. Mr. Petteway formerly coached Mike in youth football and in AAU basketball from about 8-years-old through his junior year of high school and served as a mentor to him during his childhood. Mr. Petteway seeks to continue providing guidance to Mike by serving on his Board of Directors.

Brandi Dotson

Ms. Dotson is the mother-in-law of Mike Evans. She has been a part of several successful fundraising events and is eager to help the Mike Evans Family Foundation carry out its mission. Brandi is a native Texan, currently residing in Houston. She worked as a registered nurse for almost 20 years and as a public servant most of her adult life – 10 years of which were as a 911 operator. She grew up in a small town just outside of College Station, TX, where sports and community service were a big part of her upbringing. She is a devoted Christian, mother of two wonderful children, and grandmother.

Heather Kilgore

Ms. Kilgore is the mother of Mike Evans and has been instrumental in his life. As a single mother, she raised three children and has been a mother figure to many in the city of Galveston, TX. Ms. Kilgore wants to use her experiences to help others, especially young mothers in the Galveston community. She has been able to do this through the Galveston Teen Parenting Coalition, where she has served as mentor and has helped to provide items and funding to the young women in the program. There is no better voice for young mothers who have encountered struggles and had the fortitude to overcome those battles and help their children strive for success.

Deryk Gilmore

Owner and CEO of Day 1 Sports and Entertainment, Deryk Gilmore has been a certified agent with the NFL Players Association for more than 15 years and represents several NFL players, including co-representing Mike Evans as his agent since he entered the NFL. Gilmore is the president of The Total Package Group, a packaging company that works with automotive dealers and is based out of Atlanta and certified with the Georgia Minority Business Development Council.  A former coach in both the Pac 10 and Big 10, Gilmore graduated with an MBA in Operations, MS in Sports Marketing from The University of Illinois, and BS from Penn State University where he played on the 1986 National Championship team. He’s married to Camille Chang Gilmore, VP of HR and Chief Global Diversity officer with Boston Scientific who also serves on several national boards. They have two sons Dantae’ and Deion.

Darren Jones

Darren is the President of Maven Sports Group. He is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Law, is a licensed attorney-at-law, as well as a certified NFL Players Association contract advisor. He is a labor and corporate law expert and has received numerous awards and recognition as one of the top lawyers in the country. He has vast experience in contract and endorsement negotiations, collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and arbitrations and has served as legal advisor to numerous professional athletes, entertainers, celebrities and charitable and non-profit organizations. Jones serves as Evans’ attorney and co-represents him with Deryk Gilmore. Jones serves as legal counsel for a fortune 500 company, president of a youth baseball league, and has several philanthropic endeavors in the city of Atlanta.

Josephine Edwards

Ms. Edwards is a Galveston native and has always had a passion for helping people. She has been involved in different areas of healthcare: everything from research to, presently, direct patient care as a registered nurse. Josephine is also a founder of her own non-profit organization for adolescents in Galveston County. While keeping herself busy with education and community service, she has also managed to be the head of a family of six. The Mike Evans Family Foundation furthers her reach for Galveston County youth and beyond.

Brandy Tuck

Brandy represents the Bryan/College Station region with 10+ years of experience working in the higher education industry. Skilled in adult learning, team building, career coaching, event management, and corporate relations. She is an MBTI Certified Practitioner. Brandy graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Development and a master’s degree in Leadership Development. She spends her free time with her family and volunteering for the Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley, Kiwanis Club and the Fun for All Playground Committee.

Chip Baker

Chip is a fourth-generation educator and a close family friend of Ashli’s family. He has been a teacher/coach for over twenty-three years. He is a multiple time best-selling Author, Youtuber/Podcaster, Transformational Speaker and Life Coach. Chip is the creator of the YouTube channel/podcast “Chip Baker – The Success Chronicles” where he interviews people of all walks of life and shares their stories for positive inspiration and motivation.

Tara Jarrett


Tara is Ashli’s aunt and has over 25 years of sales and marketing experience. She is currently a real estate agent in Texas. Throughout her career, Tara has worked with sporting organizations, nonprofits, and athletes/musicians and brings a knowledge of strategic planning, ticket sales, marketing, and event promotion to the foundation.

Stephanie Clark

Stephanie has more than 15 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, using her clinical knowledge to develop programs and provide supports that address physical, behavioral, and social support needs of individuals in their environment. Her areas of expertise include addressing and integrating social drivers of health needs (such as education, housing, interpersonal violence, transportation, or food insecurity) with an individual’s behavioral and physical health needs. After living and serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine she values understanding and empathy for persons of differing cultures, races, ethnicities, and beliefs. Her passions derive from a desire to empower those who struggle to have their own voice. Stephanie uses her expertise of program development to construct initiatives to improve health literacy and outcomes for those with physical, cognitive, behavioral, or cultural barriers. Stephanie received her Bachelor of Communication and Broadcast Journalism degree from Wichita State University—while competing as a student-athlete—and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Denver.
