Michael Lynn Evans III was born on August 21, 1993 in Galveston, TX. He played college football at Texas A&M, where he earned consensus first-team All-American honors after recording a school record of 1,394 receiving yards on 69 receptions. Mike was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round with the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was ranked the top wide receiver in the draft by Sports Illustrated and the second best wide receiver by NFLDraftScout.com.

In 2014, Mike became the first rookie receiver to have three consecutive games of 100 yards and at least one touchdown since Randy Moss in 1998. He also became the youngest player in the history of the NFL to catch for 200 or more yards in one game.

He finished his rookie season with 68 receptions for 1,051 yards and 12 touchdowns, setting franchise records.

Career

In 2016 he became the fourth player in NFL history to begin his career with three consecutive seasons of 1,000 yards receiving, as well as the first receiver in franchise history to receive two touchdowns in the first quarter of a game. On December 20, 2016, Evans was selected to the Pro Bowl, the first of his career.

Evans finished his third season with 96 receptions for 1,322 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in 16 starts.He was ranked 29th by his peers on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017.

On April 17, 2017, the Buccaneers picked up the fifth-year option on Evans’ contract. He became the 3rd receiver in NFL history to begin his career with 4 consecutive years of 1000 yards receiving after catching 5 passes for 55 yards.

In 2018, Mike finished the season with 86 receptions for 1,524 yards, 3rd in the NFL, and 8 touchdowns in 16 starts. His 1,524 yards in a season is his career high but also is now a Buccaneers record for most receiving yards in a season. He made the Pro Bowl for the second time in his career, which is also breaking a Bucs record of Pro Bowl appearances for a wide receiver.

Mike is not only dedicated to his work on the field, he and his wife Ashli are raising their two beautiful daughters, Mackenzie and Ariah while giving back to their community through their new foundation. Launched in December of 2017, The Mike Evans Family Foundation provides financial assistance for graduating high school students from low-income families in need and supports women and families suffering from domestic violence.
